Yetis Sweep Guilford Tech in Dominant Home Victory
The Cleveland Community College volleyball team delivered a strong performance on Thursday night, sweeping Guilford Technical Community College 3–0 (25–13, 25–14, 25–16) at home.
The Yetis controlled the match from the start, using aggressive serving and a balanced attack to keep Guilford Tech off rhythm. Freshman Truly Gibbs led the offensive charge with an impressive .455 hitting percentage, tallying six kills and two blocks. London Brown and Ariann Hernandez added seven kills each, keeping the Titans' defense under pressure throughout all three sets.
Setter Addison Beaver ran a sharp offense, dishing out 16 assists while adding three aces and 15 digs to round out an all-around performance. Avery Lindsey chipped in nine assists and three aces of her own, helping the Yetis dominate from the service line with a total of 11 aces.
Defensively, Cleveland was solid in the back row with 44 team digs, led by Beaver and Kaitlyn Clutter, who anchored the Yeti defense with consistent passing and hustle plays.
The win improves Cleveland's momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Head coach Jamie Wilson's squad continues to show depth and cohesion, earning another confident home sweep.
The Yetis return to action this week. They play the Sandhills Flyers in their last game of the regular season on Wednesday at Sandhills CC.
