Yetis Secure Home Victory Over USC Lancaster
Cleveland Community College defended their home court on Thursday night with a strong 3–1 win over USC Lancaster (25–17, 17–25, 25–16, 25–20). The Yetis fed off the home crowd energy, bouncing back after a tough second set to close out the match with authority.
London Brown was a force at the net, finishing with 14 kills and 15 digs to lead the attack while also contributing on defense. Sara Rose Warlick powered through with 13 kills of her own, pairing her offense with 13 digs for an all-around performance.
Setter Addison Beaver kept the offense running smoothly, dishing out 34 assists while also adding 16 digs, 3 aces, and a block. Amelia Pilgrim gave the Yetis a huge boost from the service line, firing in 4 aces to go along with 5 kills.
The Yetis' defensive effort was equally impressive. Beaver and Brown combined for 31 digs, while Warlick added 13 and Kaitlyn Clutter chipped in 8 to help keep long rallies alive. Up front, Pilgrim and Ariann Hernandez each posted 2 blocks to slow down USC Lancaster's attack.
The victory gives Cleveland a strong home win under head coach Jamie Wilson, showing balance in both offense and defense. With multiple players stepping up across the board, the Yetis continue to build momentum early in the season.
Up next, the Yetis travel to Davidson-Davie on Monday for a 7:00 p.m. match before returning home to host Caldwell in a 6:00 p.m. contest on Tuesday.
