Yetis Women’s Basketball Breaks New Ground as a Nationally Ranked Program
Cleveland Community College women's basketball has officially stepped onto the national stage—one milestone at a time.
The Yetis made history on November 17, when the NJCAA first recognized the program as an honorable mention in the national rankings. It was the first time the team had ever appeared on the national radar, signaling that their early-season dominance wasn't going unnoticed.
Just one week later, on November 24, the momentum continued as the Yetis climbed into the official poll at No. 24, marking the program's first-ever national ranking. Their undefeated start, powered by balanced scoring, aggressive defensive pressure, and unwavering composure, positioned the Lady Yetis among the top teams in the country.
The rise didn't stop there. In the next release on December 1, they moved up another spot to No. 23, reinforcing that this team is more than a feel-good early-season story—they're here to contend.
At 6–0, the Yetis are firing on all cylinders. The roster has embraced a gritty identity built on full-court pressure, sharp execution in transition, and a deep bench capable of shifting momentum at any moment. Their consistent ability to close out games late has been a defining factor in their ascent into the national conversation.
With program-first accolades, historic rankings, and an undefeated record to start the season, the Yetis are proving they belong among the nation's best. And if their early run is any indication, this team is just getting started.
