The Cleveland Community College Yetis faced a demanding stretch of games last week, opening with a tough doubleheader at Gaston College before bouncing back with two gritty performances on February 28 — including an extra-inning walk-off victory at home and a strong road win over CCBC Catonsville.

The Yetis ran into a red-hot Gaston lineup in the midweek doubleheader at CaroMont Health Park.
In game one, Cleveland was limited to two hits — one from Zaley Packett and a double from Savannah Holleman. Defensively, the Yetis battled through three errors while Brookelynn Farmer worked four innings in the circle, striking out two.
Game two saw more offensive production from Cleveland, as the Yetis collected six hits. Packett provided the highlight with a solo home run in the fifth inning, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sophia Neal, Holleman, Allison Setzer, and Charlsey Oglesby each added a hit.
Neal and Farmer split time in the circle, combining for four innings of work against an aggressive Gaston offense.
Despite the final scores, the Yetis continued to compete at the plate and gained valuable experience against one of the region's top teams.

Catawba Valley CC hosted the JUCO Jamboree on Saturday, and the Yetis delivered one of their most exciting performances of the season in an eight-inning thriller against the College of Southern Maryland.
Cleveland came out swinging in the first inning, plating four runs behind RBI knocks from Zaley Packett, Sara Rose Warlick, Savannah Holleman, and Brookelynn Farmer. The Yetis totaled 12 hits in the contest.
Sophia Neal ignited the offense at the top of the lineup, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and four stolen bases. Peyton Whitson matched that spark, finishing 3-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI, and two triples. Packett went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Warlick added two hits and two RBIs of her own. Holleman and Farmer each drove in a run, and Allison Setzer delivered the decisive RBI in the eighth.
In the circle, Farmer threw five innings before Neal came on in relief and earned the win, tossing three innings and allowing no earned runs while striking out one.
With the game tied in the eighth, the Yetis manufactured the winning run with timely contact and aggressive baserunning, sealing the comeback victory in front of the home crowd.
CCC Yetis 5, CCBC Catonsville 3
Cleveland carried that momentum into a road matchup later that evening and secured a 5-3 win over CCBC Catonsville.
The Yetis struck early, scoring twice in the first inning and adding three more in the third. Whitson paced the offense, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Neal also went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four stolen bases, consistently applying pressure on the basepaths.
Packett drove in two runs, including a sacrifice fly and a double, while Desiree Rondon added a hit.
Neal delivered a complete-game performance in the circle, going seven innings, allowing three runs on 10 hits while striking out three to earn the win.
Across the four-game stretch, the Yetis showcased resilience, offensive firepower, and aggressive baserunning. With key contributions throughout the lineup and steady work in the circle, Cleveland continues to build momentum as the season progresses.
