The Cleveland Community College Yetis battled through four games in two days, dropping a home doubleheader to USC Union before turning the tide and earning a road sweep against the USCU Lady Bantams.
USC Union 8, CCC 0
Game 1 – February 17 | Shelby, NC
The Yetis were held in check in the opening game of the home doubleheader as USC Union plated runs in four different innings to secure an 8-0 win.
USC Union struck early with a run in the first before breaking the game open with a four-run second inning. Cleveland was unable to generate consistent offense against a strong outing in the circle, managing just two hits while drawing four walks.
Despite opportunities to get on the board, the Yetis couldn't capitalize, and USC Union added insurance runs in the third and sixth to seal the shutout.
USC Union 15, CCC 4
Game 2 – February 17 | Shelby, NC
In game two, the Yetis showed more offensive spark but were unable to keep pace in a high-scoring contest, falling 15-4.
USC Union jumped ahead with four runs in the first inning and continued to apply pressure throughout the game. Cleveland responded with a pair of runs in the second and added single runs in the third and fifth to keep battling.
The Yetis collected eight hits in the contest and forced USC Union to work defensively, but a five-run sixth inning by the visitors put the game out of reach.
CCC 10, USCU 6
Game 1 – February 18 | Union, SC
The Yetis flipped the script on Wednesday, erupting for 10 runs in the opener to power past the Lady Bantams 10-6.
After falling behind early, Cleveland settled in and responded with timely hitting throughout the lineup. Zaley Packett delivered a monster performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and five RBIs to anchor the offense. Her two-run blast in the fifth gave the Yetis momentum, and she later cleared the bases with a clutch double in the sixth.
Ryley Wheeler added two doubles and an RBI, while Savannah Holleman recorded two hits and drove in a run. Sophia Neal contributed an RBI and reached base twice, and Charlsey Oglesby chipped in an RBI as part of a balanced attack that produced 10 hits.
In the circle, Brookelynn Farmer went the distance to earn the win, tossing seven innings and striking out two while working through traffic to keep the Lady Bantams off balance in the final three frames.

Game 2 – February 18 | Union, SC
The Yetis completed the sweep in dominant fashion in game two, riding a complete-game performance from Sophia Neal to a 5-1 victory.
Neal was sharp in the circle, scattering nine hits over seven innings while allowing just one run and striking out two. She also contributed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and scoring twice.
Peyton Whitson sparked the offense early with a triple to center field in the first inning, driving in a run and later scoring to give the Yetis a quick 2-0 lead. Sara Rose Warlick tallied two RBIs, including a sacrifice fly in the first and an RBI single in the seventh.
Allison Setzer came through in the fourth with a two-run single to extend the advantage, and Ryley Wheeler added two hits as Cleveland finished with nine total hits and played error-free defense behind Neal.
After a challenging start at home, the Yetis responded with resilience on the road, showcasing depth in the lineup and strong performances in the circle to secure a doubleheader sweep. Cleveland continues to build momentum as conference play approaches, proving they can bounce back and compete with grit and energy.
