Cleveland Edges Out Caldwell Community in High-Scoring Softball Matchup

Game 1

In a close and exciting game, Caldwell Community C emerged victorious over Cleveland Community with a final score of 10-9. The game took place on February 3, 2024, in Shelby, NC.

Caldwell started off strong, scoring a run in the first inning. However, Cleveland quickly responded with two runs in the bottom of the first. Cleveland continued to maintain their lead, scoring two more runs in the second inning and one run in the third.

Caldwell fought back in the sixth inning, scoring four runs to tie the game at 6-6. They then took the lead in the seventh inning, scoring four more runs to bring their total to 10. Cleveland tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh but fell just short, scoring two runs and ending the game with a final score of 10-9 in favor of Caldwell.

Jaylen Ledbetter and Sayge Strange both had impressive performances at the plate, each hitting a double and driving in a run. Kaylen Cales also had a solid game, driving in two runs. However, their efforts were not enough to secure the win.
