Yetis Open Cross Country Season at Catawba XC Invite
The skies opened with rain just as the Yetis took the line for their season opener at the Catawba XC Invitational on Friday, September 6 at Catawba College. Despite the wet conditions, Cleveland Community College made a strong showing in a competitive field.
Competing as the only junior college at the meet, CCC finished 6th overall out of seven teams, placing ahead of Johnson C. Smith University and coming within just a few points of Livingstone College.
Freshman Brayden Rushing led the way for the Yetis men, crossing the line in 35th place with a time of 30:00 on the challenging 5.1-mile course. On the women's side, Leilanni Delano turned in the top performance for CCC, finishing 45th overall.
The Yetis now turn their attention to their home course, as they prepare to host the Yetis Invitational on September 20 at the North Campus.
