Yetis to Host Region Championship
Cleveland Community College will host the 2023 Region 10 Cross Country Championship meet on October 28. The meet will be held on the Yetis' home course located at CCC's North Campus, 831 N. Post Rd, Shelby, NC 28150.
The Region 10 meet is a showcase of the NJCAA cross country teams in the Region and include both men's and women's teams across all three Divisions. It is the only time that all the Region teams come together to compete as one. In addition to CCC's team, Region 10 has teams from a number of different intuitions across North and South Carolina and Virginia. These teams include Spartanburg Methodist College, Louisburg College, Gaston College, Richard Bland, Catawba Valley, Northeastern Tech, Central Carolina, Patrick & Henry, Rockingham CC, and Southwest Virginia CC.
"I'm thrilled that we are hosting the Region 10 Championship this year and that we can showcase our Cross-Country course at the North Campus," said Yetis Head Coach Steve McCachren. "We are also hosting our second annual Yeti Invitational meet on September 23, and I've invited all the teams in the Region to participate so that they can get an advance preview of our course.
CCC's North Campus is located on North Post Road adjacent to Alli's Cafe. North Campus is home to the college's Heavy Equipment Operator Program, Truck Driving Training, and Animal Science Barn. The new Cross-Country course was opened in Fall of 2022.
